Abdominal Wall Closure

What it does:

ABRA® Abdominal Wall Closure provides full fascia and skin closure, leaving nothing behind except a sound primary repair. Nothing beats a primary closure.

When it is used:

ABRA® Abdominal Wall Closure is indicated whenever conventional primary closure may be complicated by fascial retraction.

Why it is used:

        Benefits

  • Achieves primary closure
  • Eliminates hernia and need for mesh and skin graft
  • Maintains domain, or regains lost domain
  • Preserves fascial margins
  • Restores normal physiology

        Features

  • Compatible with Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT)
  • Reduces OR visits
  • Allows bedside tension adjustments and dressing changes

How it works:

The ABRA® Abdominal Wall Closure System restores the primary closure option for full thickness, retracted midline abdominal defects. Over time this dynamic wound closure system pulls the muscle planes together under tolerable tension while leaving fascial margins intact and ready to suture for a sound primary closure. This ABRA System eliminates the hernia without the need for mesh and re-approximates the skin margins, eliminating the need to graft.
